HEADLIGHT RESTORATION
Clarity Back.Then Sealed Against UV.
Oxidation sanded back in stages, polished to optical clarity, then sealed with UV protection. Without that last step, they yellow again in a year. Most shops skip it.

POLISHING A HEADLIGHT WITHOUT SEALING IT BUYS YOU A YEAR. THEN IT'S WORSE THAN BEFORE.
THE PROBLEM
Less LightEvery Winter.
It happens too slowly to notice. The factory UV coating breaks down, the polycarbonate underneath oxidises, and the lens goes from clear to hazy to yellow. Output drops with it, so the beam scatters instead of reaching down the road. On a wet November night on I-55 that is a safety problem, not a cosmetic one. And a ten-year-old car with yellow headlights reads as neglected no matter how good the paint is.

WHAT'S INCLUDED
Sanded, Polished,Then Sealed.
Both lenses. The sealing step is not optional and is not an upsell here.
Preparation
- Lens condition assessed for oxidation depth and internal hazing
- Surrounding paint and trim taped off
- Lens surface cleaned and degreased
Restoration
- Wet sanding in progressive grit stages to remove oxidation
- Machine polishing to optical clarity
- Final refinement pass to remove sanding haze
Protection
- Dedicated UV sealant applied to both lenses
- Cure time observed before the vehicle is handled
- Clarity checked with the lights on, in the dark
Sealed, not just polished.
OUR PROCESS
The Same Four Stages.Every Time.
Every vehicle moves through the same four stages, in the same order. Only stage three changes with the service.
01
Inspection & Preparation
Paint depth, defect mapping, and a full decontamination wash. We find what the last shop covered up.
02
Deep Clean & Correction
Multi-stage machine correction removes swirls, scratches, and oxidation. Interiors are stripped, extracted, and conditioned.
03
Protection & Finishing
A dedicated UV sealant goes onto the restored lens and is left to cure. This is the step that decides whether the restoration lasts years or yellows again by next winter.
04
Final Quality Check
Inspected under dedicated lighting before your keys come back. If it isn't right, it doesn't leave.
The stage that changes is stage three. Everything else is fixed.

THE HONEST ANSWER
Won't They JustYellow Again?
They will if nobody seals them. That's exactly why so many people have had this done once and decided it doesn't work.
Sanding and polishing removes the oxidised layer and leaves bare polycarbonate, which is more vulnerable to UV than it was before. A dedicated UV sealant is what keeps it clear. A quick polish and a tub of toothpaste-grade compound skips that and looks great for about a year.
There's also a limit worth naming. If the hazing is on the inside of the lens, or there's internal moisture or a cracked housing, no amount of external work fixes it. We'll tell you that at inspection instead of restoring the outside of a lens that's failing on the inside.
We won't restore a lens that's hazed on the inside. External work can't reach it, and charging you for it would be dishonest.
QUESTIONS
The Things PeopleActually Ask.
Years, when the lens is sealed properly. The restoration itself is permanent in the sense that the oxidation is gone; longevity comes down to the UV sealant that goes on afterward, which is why we treat it as part of the service and not an add-on.
Almost certainly because it wasn't sealed. Polishing leaves bare polycarbonate exposed, and without UV protection it oxidises faster than the factory coating did. That's the single most common reason people think headlight restoration doesn't work.
No. Internal hazing, moisture and cracked housings are sealed inside the unit, and external restoration can't reach them. We'll identify it at inspection and tell you plainly that replacement is the answer.
Always. Restoring one leaves a visible mismatch, and the second lens is oxidising on the same timeline even if it looks better today.
Clarity is restored, so more of the light your headlights already produce reaches the road. It's a real improvement in output and a noticeable one at night, but it's a restoration of what the lens was, not an upgrade to a brighter bulb.
Yes, same process. Mention them when you book so we can include them in the quote.
